Since 2005, BMG has been responsible for the worldwide marketing of the "Käfer" and "Käfer Feinkost" brands in the food and non-food sectors. The main business activity of BMG is the granting of licenses to selected companies and the support of existing Käfer licensees. The activities go far beyond pure umbrella brand management - BMG supports its licensing and trading partners in advisory capacity with regard to product development, marketing and sales.

Feinkost Käfer – The value of a historically proven brand.

The company "Käfer" was founded in 1930 by Paul and Elsa Käfer. The first business activity of the Munich family-run business was the delicatessen store, from which the restaurant "Käfer Schänke" in Prinzregentenstrasse emerged, which is still renowned today. In 1953, Feinkost Käfer took over the theatre and museum catering business in Munich and thus founded the gastronomy business. Over the years, this was expanded to include other well-known projects such as the restaurant in the German Bundestag Berlin, the Hamburg Trade Fair, the Kaltenbrunn estate on Lake Tegernsee, BMW Welt Munich and recently the gastronomy in the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart. In total, the catering business has grown to 38 locations throughout Germany.
Another business segment is party and catering services, where Feinkost Käfer is now the European market leader in the premium segment.
Not to forget, the name Feinkost Käfer has been closely associated with the Munich Oktoberfest since 1971: the "Käfer Wies'n-Schänke" can accommodate 3,000 guests to experience unforgettable moments year after year.

The Käfer licensing business.

In addition to the above-mentioned business divisions, another mainstay was added in 1980: the licensing business. In the meantime, Feinkost Käfer is represented on the German-speaking market with over 100 different licensed food and non-food products.
Only companies selected according to certain criteria and tested manufacturers, guarantee the quality that deserves the name Feinkost Käfer.
They use the established brand concept and thereby achieve a strong differentiation from the competition. In addition, innovative products can also be implemented as growth drivers in the desicatessen segment, as Feinkost Käfer is a credible originator of new product ranges.

Please note that Feinkost Käfer's licensed products differ from Käfer's own brands in that the own brands are produced in-house or in cooperation with regional suppliers.
When granting a licence, however, you as a partner acquire the right to use the Feinkost Käfer brand for an externally produced product and to market it yourself in retail.
